The origin and purpose of radice

The origin of radice is Italian, and the meaning is "root". Just as organisms are grounded and fueled by their roots, radice is grounded in science and fueled by compassion to address the inequities of children living with developmental differences throughout the world.

Founded in 2022 by Dr. Jillian Pierucci, "radice" stands for radically accepting and advancing developmental differences in communities everywhere. That is what we do and what we are about. We address "acceptance" of developmental differences by bringing awareness to and transmitting knowledge into communities. We "advance" developmental differences by collaborating with local laypersons, caregivers, and other experts to bring effective change through developing, implementing, and sustaining early childhood intervention services and systems.

Methods and outcomes

We practice action research (Lewin, 1944) and implementation science (Mittman, 2016). We believe in building genuine connections with our collaborators to develop realistic solutions for effective change within their communities for the betterment of children and their families. We aspire to produce a world in which children with developmental differences thrive.
